Some of Nigeria’s biggest names in the entertainment 
industry recently gathered to celebrate KONAMII 2015 inter-orphanage 
homes football competition and charity soccer fiesta. The event which 
held at the Campus mini stadium, Igbosere, Lagos Island had superstar 
musicians MI, Seyi Shay, Naeto C, Solidstar, Ruggedman, comedian AY among many others show support for the orphanages who took part in the football matches 
Other activities at the event also featured several novelty matches including matchups between Team Konamii and Team Lagos, Covenant University and Redeemers University and a celebrity game pitting Team Chocolate City (MI, Milli, Koker , Don L37,) against Team AY Live made up of Rugged Man, Ink Edwards , Sensei Uche , Solid Star, DJ Lambo and Ketchup.
 Covenant University and Redeemers University cancelled each other out 
while Team Konamii and Team Lagos also ended in a goalless draw.
Other guests present included Sexy Steel, Ink Edwards , Sensei Uche , Dija, VJ ADAMS, Solid Star, Dj Lambo, Zamir Of LOS, Ketchup, Milli, Koker and Don L37.
Speaking at the event, Founder/President, Change Africa Project, Olamide Olabisi stated, “KONAMII
 was born out of a passion for helping the less privileged and orphans 
in our society by blending the idea of football, entertainment and 
charity to raise funds, provide gifts and give orphans a sense of 
belonging in the society. The ultimate goal is to give them a better 
future.”
From gate fees and a donation of 
1000 Naira from each spectator at the event, the sum of 600,000 Naira 
was raised for the four orphanage homes as well as two desktop 
computers, one split-unit air conditioner, two flat screen television, 
foodstuff, baby drugs, clothes and other items.
Instituted
 in 2012, the event aims to provide orphanage homes with practical 
support through sports and improve their minds, bridge the gap between 
the privileged and the less privileged and most importantly give them a 
better future. The event is the brainchild of Olamide Olabisi, Gbenga Sanusi, Kola Lawal, Posi Lawore, Tunde Awodiji and Tofola Fabamwo, all of whom are undergraduates at the University of Lagos.
